Jeff Dunham’s father was the owner of a real estate evaluation firm in Dallas and his mother was a housewife.
Raised in a religious Christian family, in a middle-class neighborhood in Dallas, Jeff Dunham’s childhood was a typical one, the only difference between him and his friends being that he was an only child.
Jeff Dunham’s passion for ventriloquism started around the age of 8, when, before Christmas, he went with his mother in a toys-store and saw a ventriloquist dummy, named Mortimer Snerd.
On the Christmas morning of 1970, the man that would later conquer the world with his comedic style, found on the couch Mr Mortimer Snerd and not long after that his father took him to the Dallas Public Library, from where they borrowed a couple of books on ventriloquism.
But according to the comedian himself, in his latest book All By My Selves, the real learning process started with “Jimmy Nelson’s Instant Ventriloquism” album, which taught Jeff Dunham the basics of ventriloquism.
In 1990 Jeff Dunham went to Baylor University in Waco and four years later, on May 19, 1994 he married Paige Brown, with whom he has three daughters: Bree, Ashlyn and Kenna.
Paige Brown Dunham made a cameo appearance in one of Jeff Dunham’s videos: Spark of Insanity and their younger daughter appeared a bonus material of A Very Special Christmas DVD, titled Ask Santa.
After 14 years of what it seemed to be a happy marriage, Jeff Dunham and Paige Brown Dunham separated in November 2008 and their divorce finalized in May 2010.
Jeff Dunham’s new girlfriend is the 29 year-old Audrey Murdick, who is also his nutritionist and according to Paige Brown Dunham, one of the reasons of their divorce.
